Robert Kettler, a third-generation builder
and company chairman, founded KSI in 1977. In 1986, President
Richard W. Hausler joined the KSI family and helped to increase
the company’s size to include a development staff of
125 and a property management team of 250. Today, KSI is one
of the nation’s top 25 developers of multifamily housing.
Over the past 25 years, we have made an easy
transition from designing and building traditionally planned
communities to today’s vertical and transit-oriented
residential and commercial living systems.
This innovative mixed-use building design
is perfect for living and working. The best elements of traditional
towns are incorporated with this modern design to best use
the limited land of urban areas. Living in one of our communities
will bring people closer to their environment. They will see
it, touch it and live in it.
We have teamed up with world-renowned architect,
Robert A.M. Stern. With the addition of Stern, the design objective
for new projects is to create pedestrian-friendly urban communities
with well-articulated architecture and located in a lively
neighborhood environment. Working with Stern has helped us
continue our commitment to you.
In the building of new communities, we at
KSI becomes one with the historical roots of the land and work
closely with local citizens to preserve the heritage of the
area. Our team intends to use our distinctive planning skills
and experience to create opportunities for development and
revitalization throughout the Baltimore-Washington area.
